a little introduction

Well, hello there.

Before we dive right into this, I figured I’d give you a bit of a back story. A glimpse into who we are and what happened before this whole baby journey started.

So first, there’s me. Your Mama. Make-up obsessed, loves to shop and spend time with friends. Always makes travel a high priority. A shut in at heart but craves a good night out every so often. Hugeeee procrastinator and I’m pretty darn lazy (prime example- I had every intention of starting this blog when I was 12 weeks pregnant. You’re now 16 months old, napping on my chest). I’m an empath and I care deeply for those closest to me. Out east is my happy place and I’m always cooking up something new in the kitchen.

Up next is your Dad, or “AAAHHHHHH” as you currently refer to him. He’s the best guy I know. Loves being in the fire department. Always working his butt off 24/7. Seriously, he never stops. & when he does stop, he promptly falls asleep. He can eat like nobody’s business but is still a beanpole [insert middle finger here]. Has an undying love for his Jeep, tools, and cleaning products. He will spend a whole day just cleaning one room. Hence why his nickname is Danny Tanner (Full House reference, look it up.) He’s got a bit of a temper on him but most of the time he’s busy being a goofball.

Last but not least, there’s Murphy! The Murph, Murph-a-lerf, Murphy Moo, Boogie Butt, Stink Butt, & Mansky. The pup with many names and the biggest personality. Best. Dog. Ever. He’s incredibly smart..too smart. Mainly cause he only does want he wants. Gives the most kisses ever. So animated (he could carry a conversation just with ear rotations and head tilts) and high energy is a immense understatement. He is, by far, the most crazy dog I know. But he loves SO hard and we love him for it. And he gives really awesome cuddles, until he stinks up the bed and gets banished to the other end.

Now, I’ll apologize in advance but I’m going to give you the cliff notes version of our relationship up until when this story starts. We don’t have time for all that nonsense, at least not right now.

In a nutshell, your dad & I met when I was 17 and he was 21 (scandalous, I know). He had a car, a job, was cute, and was picking up the hints I was dropping about wanting a boyfriend. I thought to myself “he’ll do for now”. He probably felt the same. That was September 24, 2003. The months turned into years and along the way, we fell in love (awwww). On our 5 year anniversary, your dad asked me to marry him. We went apple picking, went to a real nice dinner, and then he frantically tried to find a beach before the sun set. It was really sweet.

After three years of saving and planning, we got married. That will forever be one of the best days of my life. Sure, the day had plenty of hiccups but it was really awesome to have all of our loved ones in one place and to see all my planning come to life.

A few months before the wedding, we had moved into our first apartment on N Monroe. It hit all the big check marks- decent size, in a complex, and they allowed dogs. I just had to overlook dark red carpeting and a green marble vanity. As our first lease was coming to a close, we decided that (despite our batshit crazy neighbors) we would stay and what that meant was- time to get a dog!

I had my heart set on a Boston Terrier for the longest time so once we decided it was go time, we just needed to find one. It only took a few weeks of searching until I found the cutest little brown boy who was within driving distance to go meet. We fell in love instantly and brought him home the following day.

Soooo, that’s that. You’re all caught up. I think it’s time we can get this story started.
